Revit will open Line Weights dialog. The default tab is model line weight. It controls the line thickness in your model. The model line weight is scale dependent. For example the wall thickness is set to 3 in cut views. If you set the view scale 1:100, then the line weight for that particular view is 0.25mm (in metric, obviously).
Revit, objects are not lining up and appear to move when zooming in. Objects look as though they are not connected and when I try to pick lines I often need to select well away from the line to pick it up.
One of the first things I wanted to learn when I started writing Revit macros was how to create Revit objects, like walls, doors and windows. PINNING. If you are referencing or overlaying an external dwg, rvt, or other types of drawings files, … Save your Revit models in a way that lets others open them in MicroStation, Bentley Navigator, OpenBuildings Designer, and any other application that can open an i-model, retaining the Revit properties information from the Revit model. You can keep working in a mixed Bentley/Revit environment with the ability to reference Revit models into a MicroStation-based design workflow for coordination Structure tab Model panel (Model Line) Create tab Draw panel (Model Line) Click Modify | Place Lines tab Draw panel, and select a sketching option or Pick Lines to create lines by selecting lines or walls within the model. If you want to use a different line style (including line color or weight) than the one shown on Line Style panel, select one from the Line Style drop-down. Line styles are not available for model lines created in sketch mode. Use model lines to create 3D lines that are part of the design.

Projecting Lines onto Surfaces within Revit has been tricky for various reasons. One could argue that projecting lines and modeling with primitives are precisely
Make sure that selected model lines are not closed loops, otherwise the tool will warn and ignore them. If there are closed loops (circles, ellipses) to be used, then they should be divided into 2 or more parts with Revit Split Element tool. If you have many coordinates in Excel spreadsheet or in other table format, it’s easy to use the power of Dynamo to get those coordinates into Revit. In our example, we will use x, y, z coordinates to create model lines within Revit project.

Some things to note about this code: Line Patterns Controls the line patterns such as dashed, centreline, etc. Regardless of if you have imported or linked AutoCAD drawings, then the default line pattern list will be contaminated. The best way to avoid this is to use a ‘CAD Links’ Revit model which is then linked into the main Revit model. Revit allows you to use lines and masking regions, which are annotation elements that only appear in a view. While these tools might be useful in detailing views, some users overuse them in plan views to represent real geometry. In the example below, a lazy user drafted stairs using detailing lines. The problem that you run into with creating one-line diagrams inside Revit is that the one-line diagrams are generally created before the equipment is actually placed in the Revit model.
In fact I would go as far as to say that you might as well just jump back into 2D CAD if you prefer drawing with lines, arcs and circles in Revit. The smarter, modern way of technical detailing in Revit is to use objects. So the question is, how can we tag a line in Revit?

Getting rid of the line patterns – some options: Delete these line patterns manually, BUT that will just make any lines with those patterns solid instead. Purge doesn’t work for line patterns. Write a Revit macro that will automatically delete any line pattern that starts with the word “IMPORT” – but this causes the same problem as #1.

Revit will not print in Thin Lines, but in the “real” line weight of each line. We can adjust Revit line weight if we first go to the Manage tab on the ribbon, then, under Additional Settings, we choose Line Weights: Dialog opens, and it has three tabs: Model Line Weights, Perspective Line Weights and Annotation Line Weights. Wish you could just convert lines to walls in Revit? This macro makes the process a lot easier by automatically converting model lines to Revit walls.
Select Model Lines and Cut to Clipboard (CTRL+X) Start a new Filled Region and choose Paste Aligned > Current View from the Modify Tab – the lines will appear in the same place. Select the lines again and this time, on the Create Filled Region Boundary Tab; choose cut to clipboard again. Now deliberately cancel making the Filled Region Model lines are ways to deal with a potential display problem in Revit Architecture 2015. In simple terms, a model line is an architectural feature that is two-dimensional in reality, but will still be displayed in a three-dimensional view.
